Biography

Ozlem Celik is an experienced Turkish orchestral player. In 2005 she was appointed to a chair at the Izmir State Opera and Ballet Orchestra as second and bass clarinettist. For the next four years she held this position, as well as performing on occasions as guest clarinettist for the Antalya State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Antalya and Bursa Symphony Orchestras. In 2009 she accepted a permanent position as Principal Clarinet in the Samsun State Opera and Ballet.

Ozlem Celik’s musical education began in Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory, where she studied clarinet with Atif Peynirci and chamber music with oboist Murat Ozulgen, principals of the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra. She graduated with honours in 2006. During her education she also took periodic lessons with Nusret Ispir who is principal player of Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. She participated in masterclasses with Alain Damiens, Nicholas Baldeyrou and Sarah Elbaz at Bilkent Clarinet Festival and attended the International Clarinet Festival (Happy Clarinet Days) and studied with Guy Deplus, Alexander Fitterstein and Karl Heinz Steffens.

She played as a soloist in the Youth-Genç Symphony Orchestra which was a cooperation between German and Turkish young musicians and she subsequently toured with this orchestra around Germany and Turkey in 2006.

Currently she is based in London, completing her MA in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music, and will graduate in June 2016. She studies clarinet under Angela Malsbury and Timothy Lines, and is developing her chamber music repertoire. She was delighted to be awarded a full scholarship by the Borusan Philarmonic Orchestra. Ozlem was also awarded a scholarship by the Royal Academy of Music in 2016 and is supported by Talent Unlimited.

Lysianne is a Taiwanese-French pianist based in London. She has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Engagements include Southbank Center, Royal Overseas League, and Lauderdale House in London, Thatro Nacional Sao Carlos in Lisbon, Teatro Académico Gil Vicente in Coimbra, Rekstensamlingene in Bergen, Theatro di Fumetto and Institut Luigi Boccherini in Lucca, Opera Comedie in Montpellier. Her recordings have been broadcast on national radio pt5 in Portugal. She has been invited to play in numerous festivals, including the International Piano Festival “The fire and the rose “in Lisbon, Debussy piano cycle in Coimbra and Porto, the Second piano cycle with transcriptions of Verdi and Wagner in Lisbon. Furthermore, Lysianne has collaborating with artist Kaho Kojima at the International Piano Festival of Royal Academy of Music.

She is part of the artist-in-residence program in 2017 at the Intercommunal Music School in Granville, France. Lysianne studied piano at the Conservatoire of Caen and Montpellier in France with Christian David and Pascal Jourdan, and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Carole Presland, where she obtained a Master Degree in Piano Performance. During her studies, Lysianne had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with Christopher Elton, Denis Pascal and Yvan Fedele, in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Lysianne is passionate about chamber music and has worked with various instrumental ensembles. She plays a vast range of repertoire and has maintained a keen interest in tango music and jazz classical music such as Piazzolla, Kapustin or Gershwin. She has collaborated with American composer Lola Perrin. She is also a fervent supporter of the Taiwanese Folk Music. Lysianne is the artistic director of a social enterprise named “Push Hands" which organizes fundraising concerts in support of local charities
