Biography

Jacob Bettinelli started to perfect his Italian Belcanto style from 2012. He is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music, London (RCM) where he is under the tutelage of Tim Evans-Jones and Andrew Robinson. 15/16 season highlights include operatic debut in Hong Kong as ‘Masetto’ in Don Giovanni under the baton of Brian Schembri at Hong Kong City Hall.

His London professional appearances include ‘Uberto’ in La Serva Padrona at Wilton’s Music Hall, ‘Achilla’ in Giulio Cesare in the RCM opera scene and ‘Demetrius’ in the world-premiere of Puck for the RCM Great Exhibitionists series. He was selected to complete in the 8th Concours International De Chant-Piano Nadia Et Lili Boulanger in Paris, France. He also made his debut recital at St James’s Piccadilly and recorded the baritone solo for a BBC2 TV documentary ‘The story of China’.

Future engagements include returning to St James's Piccadilly to perform the song cycle ‘An die ferne Geliebte’ at the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Summer Festival, and a recital for the Talent Unlimited Music Futures Festival at the Asia House. He will also be joining the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme at Aldeburgh Festival this summer.

Connie Luk, accompanist

Connie Luk originally from Hong Kong, has received her Guildhall Artist Masters of Performance in Guildhall School of Music & Drama principal in piano accompaniment, where she studied with Pamela Lidiard. She has received coaching and master classes from Graham Johnson, Gordon Back, Julius Drake, Martin Katz, Eugene Asti, Iain Burnside and many more. Connie was recommended in the Piano Accompaniment Prize in Guildhall School of Music & Drama and has been the selected candidate in 8th Concours International De Chant-Piano Nadia Et Lili Boulanger in Paris, France.

She is actively performing in different recitals inside London. She has performed in the Wigmore Hall, Milton Court Concert Hall, St. Barnabas Church and many more. Also, as an opera enthusiast, she has worked with the British Youth Opera as a repetiteur in 2015 summer. As an uprising musician, Connie is eager to perform classical music in new ways. She was the creative director and pianist of a song theater, Cabaret Girls, in the Song in the City and has gained a great success. Her upcoming projects are including writing and directing a new song theater, The Girl who Grew Up in the Song in the City and recital in Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church. She has just received a scholarship from the Franz-Schubert-Institut and is going to attend their Master Course in Baden, Austria this summer.
